The May and June Cult Members-only Challenge – Part One
AND THE WINNERS ARE… Well, that was a spooktastic collection of poetry you all put me through – I got it down to the magix Twenty Poems, but it was darn tricky… But getting to the point, I am many colours of pleased to be able to say that the ‘Shadows of Tall Trees’ Anthology will be published this Autumn, containing rather scary work from:-
- Adele Cordner
- Claire Lynn
- David Evans
- Des Childs
- Dominique Hecq
- Emma Lord
- Gaynor Kane
- Joan Lennon
- John Kitchen
- Julie Stevens
- Kate Young
- Kathy Finney
- Kelly Davis
- Lara Reid
- Manning Goodwin
- Margaret Royall
- Meg McCleery
- Patricia M Osborne
- Romina van Maaren
- Sarah Wheatley
Well, I have to admit I have been a bit all over the place as far as the Challenges go, but fully intend to finish on a high, so here we have the first of two that will cover May and June 2021. One thing I loved in 2020 (and wasn’t that a short list?) was that it all got a bit spooky later on, with ‘The House in the Forest’ anthology and Sarah Wragg’s brilliant collection, ‘Ghost Walk’. This Autumn then, I quite fancy adding to the selection from Hedgehog, and so I intend that we publish ‘Shadows and Tall Trees’ an anthology of spooktastic poems that see us looking over our shoulders as we wander through a dimly lit forest…or whatever you choose it to be about.
The Challenge:
- Write a Poem that is Spooky or Shocking, Scary or Full of Surprises
- Email your poem in a single document to entry to: COMPETITION@HEDGEHOGPRESS.CO.UK
- Obviously this is only open to members of the Cult of the Spiny Hog
- Deadline: 30th June 2021
The Prize:
- We will publish ‘Shadows and Tall Trees’ a Spooky Scary anthology of poems, in time for Halloween
- All those included will of course receive oodles of copies
- Cult members will obviously receive copies too
