February Challenge: The Song of the Hedgehog

The February Cult Members-Only Challenge

Three years ago, when the world seemed sanerish and we were having the very first of the Cult challenges, I used to ask everybody that joins to write a Hedgehog Poem. As a tradition it was good, but has faded and I think as we approach our twelfth Goody Bag/Box, now would be a grand time to renew it.
And The Winners Are… I’m pleased to say that the 25 poets who will see their work in this wee anthology, are:
  1. Elizabeth Barton
  2. Marilyn Timms
  3. Julie Stevens
  4. Victoria Mort
  5. Margaret Royall
  6. Daniel Clark
  7. Patricia M Osborne
  8. Kate Young
  9. Kim Whysall-Hammond
  10. Philippa Hatton-Lepine
  11. Jonathan Crabtree Parker
  12. Lucy Heuschen
  13. Mick Yates
  14. Ceinwen E Cariad Haydon
  15. Emma Lord
  16. David Bleiman
  17. Sandra Horn
  18. Roger Bloor
  19. Patricia Wooldrige
  20. Sarah Connor
  21. Jenny Robb
  22. Claire HM
  23. Manning Goodwin
  24. Romina van Maaren
  25. Stephen Bone
Many thanks to all who took part :)
The Challenge:
  1. Write a Hedgehog Poem, but from the point of view of a hedgehog looking out at the world.
  2. Email your poems in a single document to entry to: COMPETITION@HEDGEHOGPRESS.CO.UK
  3. Obviously this is only open to members of the Cult of the Spiny Hog
  4. Deadline: 28th February 2021

The Prize:
  1. We will publish a wee anthology of the best of the Hedgehog Poems called, surprisingly, ‘The Song of the Hedgehog’
  2. All those included will of course receive author copies
  3. Cult members will obviously receive a printed copy
Have fun!
