Well, I haven’t been around much recently – life, gets in the way of the poetry fun at times – but I must admit it has left me time to ponder what happens next year for Hedgehog and to be totally honest how to keep the wheels on at what is a grim old time for Small Presses and all.
Anyway, like this year I want us to do a few things differently, and more on that soon, but one thing I’ve wanted to do for a long time is publish the odd hardback.
As ever it comes down to costs, and to be totally honest I can’t see a way for all of our books to have a hardback edition, but as the odd Limited Edition / Short Run I’m hoping it will work.
All very boring, but I did want to try one so I have ‘mocked-up’ the rather lovely ‘Poems for Wonderland’ as a hardback and had it printed and poshly gorgeously bound, and I have to say that it looks rather lovely.
The one in the pretty pictures is bound with a cloth finish and has a posh dust jacket wrapped around the outside, and obviously has all of the groovy images and poems in that was in the original book.
But yes, it is very nice and so, you never know, maybe it will happen if I can make numbers work.
Anyway, I thought I’d share it with the group, see what you think.
Obviously, whilst all of this brain-stressology was happening, there were tunes to be played, and this time is was the rather wonderfilled Belle & Sebastian

Love this idea.
