Well, this week will hopefully see a steady stream of new titles being revealed as I continue to publish wee bookies that were definitely, 100% planned to be blinking in the light in 2024 alongside those that were meant to hit the waves in 2023 (or before in some cases.)
It is going to be a bumpy McGroovy ride, but it is going to be good.
Anyway, today I am so proud of being able to share the cover for one of these, a quite beautiful and brilliantly poignant collection from a poet who writes the everyday with a rare perspective.
I am such a fan of Karen Francis, and I hope this will only be the first of her collections I get to publish.
I could witter on, but I think this says it better than I would:
“This debut by Karen Francis reads like a love letter to motherhood – not schmalzy or sickly sweet – this is a warts and all examination of the ups and downs of being a parent (and a grandparent). Full of tenderness and innovative use of language – Karen takes us on a journey and keeps us right there with her through every small and major bump in the road – showing us that you never stop being a parent, however old your children are.”
– Julia Webb, Lighthouse Poetry Editor
Pre-orders will open officially soon, but Karen is already taking them for Signed copies of the First Run, First Edition, which will come with a unique Artcard.
