A Baker’s Dozen – 13 Poem Pamphlet Competition
I know it is a total cliché, but I genuinely found the judging of this wee pamphlet competition to be incredibly difficult, and it would have been easy to have a rather long list of joint winners.
Unfortunately, resources don’t stretch that far, so I did have to make a decision and in the end, I felt that one collection stood out.
As for the shortlisted poets, genuinely, every one of them could / would have won on another day. With the competitions people often think that if they aren’t chosen once it isn’t worth trying again, and in truth I can see why, but the margins sometimes are so miniscule …
But anyway, I am so proud to have read such a stunning set of collections and am pleased to announce that the Shortlisted Poets, were:

-
- Ann Gibson
- Annabelle Markwick-Staff
- Ellen Rickard (Highly Commended)
- Jenna Plewes
- Julia Duke (Commended)
- Julie-Ann Rowell
- Katrina Moiney
- Patricia M Osborne (Highly Commended)
- Russell E. Willis
- Suzie Millar (Commended)

As for the Winner, I am pleased to say that it is…
JENNA PLEWES
for her collection,
“Hourglass”
Thank you once again to everybody that entered this, and our other Competitions in 2023, and very many lots of congratulations to Jenna and all of the Shortlisted poets.
