Well, as ever the New Year is a good time for a change, and here in Hogland, UK, we do like a sneaky tweaky twirk at the best of times.
But that is not important right now.
What I did want to say, is that over the last few years, we have had our regular Book of the Week thingy, which gives me a chance to point people at some of the uber-tastically-awesome collections and conversations we have published in the Six years since this all began.
Also of course, our groovy Cult members receive them as eBooks every Monday morning which makes the whole thing more special too.
In 2024 though, I want to change this as anything that goes on a while becomes wallpaper, and who needs last year’s anaglypta when there is woodchip to pick?
I don’t know, but I’m getting distracted again.
So, getting to the point, in 2024 our Cult members, rather than receiving our Book of the Week every Monday, will instead have a virtual ticket to a newly fangled Cult Library.
So rather than receiving my choice of a book each week, they will instead have instant access, 24 hours a day, to any of our previously published Collections, Anthologies, Conversations, Sticklebacks and who knows what else.
Which is brilliant, there are hundreds of oodles of them, and all the Cult members will have to do is reach out and touch them, as it were.
So that is one thing.
The other is that I still want people to discover our titles, but rather than the blown-poly-vinyl Book of the Week, I thought it would be much more interesting if I invited people to curate their own lists of books they enjoyed from the Hoggy Archives – and indeed from other poetry presses too – and we shared that with the world.
So what I am Looking for is a Team of Poetry Curators, and as you are reading this and clearly a poetry lover, that could well be YOU!
If you fancy being a part of this, all that you need to do is:
-
-
- Send a list of a MAXIMUM of Three Poetry Collections, Anthologies or Conversations that you have enjoyed and would like to recommend
- For each of these, write a short description of what makes it special (50 Words Maximum, per Title)
- At least One of these should be a Hedgehog Title
- For Titles from other presses / self-published poets, please provide a link so that people can buy a copy.
- In the spirit of this, Please don’t choose your own Collection!
- Include a short biography of yourself, any links to your own web sites / books / social you would like us to include. A nicely out of date author fotie always works well too.
- Only One Submission per person, sorry!
-
I’m aiming to feature as many of these on our web site throughout 2024 as I can and hopefully it will be a rolling feast.
Be aware though, it is just me here, and even then that isn’t all the time – life, don’t you know – so they will be evaluated / chosen in the order that they arrive.

This sounds like a brilliant idea and a lot of fun, Mark. I shall try very hard to take part in this.
Hi Tricia
I hoped that you would :)
I think I just want to widen it all out a wee bit – so fingers crossed people point out some cool things
Hope all is good with thee?
Mark
