Well, I’m really pleased to say that the death of the Sticklebacks by the end of 2024, not only means that our already announced Little Black Book Series will become a reality, but that there are a few other things on the horizon too which are many kinds of gorgeous and exciting, if I say so myself.
One I wanted to unveil today, is a larger selection of Poetry Pamphlets that we are calling our ‘Crimson Spine Pocket Books‘ that are going to be about 24 pages all in all, and come with a classic cover design as you can see from the mock-up above.
These will be a ‘Pocket Book’ size which in new money is 130mm x 171mm and old money, sort of 5 and a bit inches by nigh on 6 and 3/4.
What can I say, I went to a Comprehensive.
The idea of these is that they will definitely be quite beautiful, use heavy and rather lovely papers and basically be a total joy to own and caress.
Too much?
As for the cover design, I don’t suppose after seeing the Sticklebacks it would come as a surprise to hear that they are in a wee way another homage to Penguins of old. This time the wee sampler books they published in the 1990s and beyond. But our own twist is that we are going to have a style for the year and, for 2024 that is very much going be based upon traditional Japanese Art, and so each of the covers will reflect that. As of course does the Crimson and Gold of the spine band.
