Oh, well, Lordy, it is all getting a bit high-altitude, full contact poetry mullering now, here in Hogland, and I’m starting to worry that I’m overdoing things.
I know, that is quite unlikely, but by my own standards this is frenetic, believe me.
So, last night, not only was I listening to the most gorgeous record I have listened to in ages – more on that in a wee moment – but I was also deep and down in a great new poetry collection, a wee pamphlet from the rather wonderful Judith Wozniak.
Our regular viewer may remember that we published Judith’s debut collection at the start of last year, and it was particularly well received, apart from by one numpty who took exception to her being a Doctor – err, right – and I have to say that her second collection is better still, I have high hopes that it will be beloved, even by Muppets who prefer leeches to inoculations. Or something.
So that is coming soon, rather wickedly stunning and there we are.
As for the most beautiful sounding record I’ve listened to in aeons, it is the new one from Sun’s Signature, which is the ‘band’ if that is the right word, that features the quite brilliant Damon Reece of Spiritualised, The Bunnymen and Massive Attack fame, and the divinity that is Elizabeth Fraser, formerly of the Cocteau Twins, This Mortal Coil and so many other things too. This is a stunning EP/Album, and more than well worth listening too.
Actually it also has legends like Steve Hackett and Thighpaulsandra on it, who would be worth your time anyway. Just saying.
