A Hog Blogs: Dreaming Harder – Not a Bad Idea

Ah, I have to say that since my mountain climbing expedition holibobs of the other week (that mainly involved tea rooms and Welsh Cakes) it has felt quite-the-job to get things started again.

At times it feels easy to get bogged down as some books just seem to take forever and get to be tricky for no really good reason, and then others just fall into your lap with a smile and everything is really rather more fun.

You just never know.

Anyway, one that has come together beautifully today, in fact, is a brilliant wee collection from the always classy Beth Brooke, a set of stunning poems influenced by the work of Elisabeth Frink.

More on that to come, but this really is a brilliant collection and I think it will cause ‘ripples’ later in the year when it is released. Beth is quality, end of.

As we haven’t had much in the series of music-to-typeset-by recently, I’m pleased to say that while I was fettling young Beth’s collection, I was mainly listening to a Waterboys album from the early 1990s, called ‘Dream Harder’.

Which is good advice for any poet, in fact it is good advice for just about anybody at all.
