A Hog Blogs: A Mad Pre-Holibobs Canter

Patricia M Osborne

I have to say that this week has been manic with an uber shedload of typesetting and cover wrangling already behind me and more to do before I disappear into the interwebless wastelands of Wales for a week on Saturday.

I think I am up to 11 or 12 Sticklebacks that are ready to print or will be soon, which is a record as that normally takes me about three years, and then there are three collections I am getting together too.

It is all a bit good if as I say, a little manic.

One of the highlights of these past few week, for me, has been that I am at the point where I  want to dream it all up again for Hedgehog for the new year. I can see that I’m finally back to getting somewhere with all of this, but there are new things to do, new ideas to try and it is all quite exciting.

Which is why this is the end of the Sticklebacks, even if it will take until the end of 2024 for the eBooks to run through. I will miss them, but cool ideas become wallpaper after a while, so change is good.

More to the point, the soundtrack to all of this fishy fettling has been pretty much the first album by Black Country New Road, from 2021 I think, who if you haven’t heard them are somewhat stunning. Do check them out.

  1. This is all very exciting, Mark, and I feel privileged to be one of the last ever sticklebacks.

    Looking forward to what’s next.

    Love the soundtrack!
