A Hog Blogs: The Final Shoal of Sticklebacks, Limbering up

I have to say that there are so many things that I want to do better at the moment, it is starting to squeak. I’ve given up wild living and instead spend far too much time batch cooking vegan 8 bean dhal, making my own muesli and – which frankly came as a bit of a shock that it is even a thing – toasting my nuts.

But it is getting things sorted at Hedgehog that is really occupying my mind.

And this week, as I am well along on catching-up with the Stickleback anthologies which form most of the Stickleback ‘output’ for the rest of the year, it has been really nice to turn my attention to the single-poet editions, both in their eBook incarnation and of course the cute wee Limited Print Editions.

Now as I write this, I haven’t said this publicly before, in fact I haven’t said it at all, but the single-poet Sticklebacks I’m currently fettling will be the final shoal to leave these shores.

Don’t get me wrong, there is a year or more ahead of the Free to Download eBooks, but the current Sticklebacking Competition is the final chance to have your work in a wee fishy – so the last three will come from this Competition and that will be that, apart from any that I have forgotten about, which is quite possible.

From there all of them will be printed this year, and the eBooks will be published next year. They will obviously stay available to download, but there won’t be any new ones.

As for this week, well I’ve been getting Sticklebacks together to be printed and hopefully other than the Competition ones which will come in a few weeks, they will all be available to buy from the poets before you know it.

So that:

    1. The poets have the pretty printed ones to sell
    2. I can have a definitive list of the eBook editions that will be published as free downloads in 2024
    3. I can go back to trying to work out what a caper is for this muesli recipe

From here, those that haven’t been printed will be and become available to buy from the poets, and then 2024 will see one released every month.
