A Hog Blogs: Remembering Philomena O’Meara, Country Singer – Coming Soon

Ah, all is poetry, all is mayhem – and here we go with a Yee and a Haw.

No, my brain hasn’t finally flippy flopped, instead I’ve finished the typesetting and cover of a forthcoming Stickleback Anthology, that tells the tale of the legendary, and slightly made-up, Irish, Female, Cowgirl, Country and Western Singer, the legend that is Philomena O’Meara.

For the record this is based on responses from a Cult Challenge a while ago and as ever it was a total joy to see which way people took the prompt. Some great poems here.

So Remembering Philomena O’Meara, Country Singer will be released as a Free to Download eBook on the 21st of August 2023 and I think you will agree with me that it is many kinds of swish.

As for the Winning Poets who will see their work featured:

1. 1. 1. 1. 1. GP Hyde
            2. Simone Mansell Broome
            3. Rhiannon Lewis
            4. Gillie Robic
            5. Jennifer Schneider
            6. Nicolette Golding
            7. Ceinwen E Cariad Haydon
            8. Oz Hardwick

Congratulations all!

As is now vaguely traditional, if perhaps only of interest to me by now, I’m pleased to report that the Music-to-typeset-by for this fine anthology was an oldy but quite the goody Happy Head by The Mighty Lemondrops, which takes me back to 1986 and various pubs and nightclubs.

God I feel old.
