This is only the sixth ‘Slim Volume of One’s Own’ Pamphlet Competition, and as with the previous times it seems to have brought a lot of excellent work out and again proved to be our most popular competition.
As a bit of background – pamphlets are the absolute core to everything we do at Hedgehog, but I was conscious that we only really offered short collections to first time poets, which is daft as there was never a good reason for that.
The downside to popularity is that it takes a lot longer to judge all of the entries, and gets worse if you then can’t tell people about them due to the nefarious forces of evil – or at least the teenagers who took over the tech, as it were.
But a winner we have and I am verily pleased to be able to announce the first collection that is to be published in 2024, is:
MICHAEL TROMANS
for
‘The Ozymandias of the Golden and the Green’
Congratulations to Michael, and many thanks to all who took the time to send their work in.
