We do realise that there are already quite a lot of poetry magazines or journals out there and that they cater for every kind of poetry you or indeed I can imagine or ever want.
We also realise that as you always read on the best poetry websites that you can make a small fortune publishing poetry, but only if you start with a large one.
So in deciding to start a new poetry journal with, let’s be frank, no real money, Arts Council funding or even the aid of a net (or Annette the girl from the sandwich shop,) we are perhaps being a little obtuse, but it won’t stop us doing our collective best to make it something special.
Early 2018 will see the launch of a magazine that has been gifted the catchy name of ‘A Restricted View From Under The Hedge.’
This is entirely our fault.
ARVFUTH, or Arfur from here on in, is to be published quarterly and will be available to subscribers in both print and some form of electronic format. More details to follow, no doubt.
As for what it will contain, it is true to say that we have quite catholic tastes and so will consider work from every dusty corner of the broadest of churches. We also want it to be more than just a collection of poems, and so are expecting to have interviews with poets running alongside a series of other interesting articles.
